Abby went straight to sleep last night which is strange in itself, but even stranger given the fact that this was at 8-00pm and she had a two hour sleep at 3-00pm. Then at 9-00pm she woke up crying and felt hot was all stuffed up and coughing, her temp was 38.5 so gave her pamol and she went back to sleep. woke up again at 1-00am shivering and she had a temp of 39.5 gave more pamol and a few hours later it had gone down to 38.

Today she has maybe been awake for 3 hours at the most has only been to the toilet once in 24 hours and her temp hasn't been below 38. At the moment I am trying desperately to get it down as it is 40. I can not believe how fast this came on!!!

I hate seeing my drive me crazy by talking constantly daughter barely able to stand up. . I won't be surprised if this ends up being another late night visit to the doctors.

Sorry to hear she's unwell
That's what my daughter does when she's sick too, and she's usually a bouncing ball of energy - so hard to see them like that!
Hope her temp goes down soon.

Poor thing! It sounds like she's got a really nasty bug. I hope she gets better just as fast as she got sick. xx

Poor little girl, I had Josh do that to me last week and no thankfully he just has the baby flu.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

Thanks for your kind wishes. Went to the docs and it's a bad dose of the flu!! Her temp has come down to 38 and have been told to keep her pamol up every four hours for the next two days. Was told to keep a close eye on her fluid intake (well duh). But was also told to do regular checks of her breathing and pulse rate as they were elevated but that also happens with the flu. This brings back bad memories of the pneumonia she had last year.

Good news is she did go to the toilet a little and I even got a smile.

Now though I regret all the times over the last week I have said and I quote "are you ever quiet"!

She sounds a lot like Josh - it is so hard to get things into them when they don't want anything. I haven't gotton Josh's temp under 38 yet but what can I do he is drugged to what he can take.

I know it's frustrating isn't it. How long has Josh had it now? I even went to the supermarket before and brought lemonade, her favourite Juice, ice blokes, yoghurt anything I could think of to get some fluids into her.

It's good that she's sleeping and resting but she's sleeping so much I'm having trouble getting her to drink when she is awake.

You can get pedialyte to help, you might have to syringe it into her though. We had to do it with Spencer it was pain staking but stopped us having to take him to the hospital to be rehydrated.

It is such a nasty flu this year. We've all had it and even I had a raging fever for the first time I can remember since childhood!
The high temps lasted about 4-5 days for us but they stopped spiking really high after 3 days.
Hope she's all better soon Vick!
