Topic: Pre-School Posted: 13 March 2009 at 4:12pm |
Omg I couldnt believe it.. We went to look at a pre-school today and decided it was the one we want Thomas to be at. They had a waiting list of 3-6 months which was fine.
Got an email back this afternoon and Thomas can start there on the 4th of April!! They must have really liked us lol. He'll be doing Tuesday mornings for the first couple of weeks, then on the 24th of April he'll be doing Tuesday mornings and Friday afternoons :D Im so happy :D
So, my question is - do I send him with a full lunch or just a few snacks etc for the morning class? He doesnt usually have anything between breakfast and lunch (he doesnt want it) but I'm thinking because he'll be playing more he might get more hungry? I guess it would be the same for afternoon tea? hehe now I get to go buy him a lunchbox! exciting!

LOL, Daniel has a "school bag".
I'd send some snacky stuff and some drink, just in case. Have a chat to the preschool and see what they advise. Yay for getting in so quick!

:P I dont even know what else to take haha. They said he needs to take a couple of changes of clothes as they'll get him doing finger painting and other nice messy stuff too. Oh and my own nappies and bottles etc etc.
I dont know what snacks to give him tho because he doesnt usually have snacks. The only other thing he eats apart from his porridge, yogurt/fruit puree and dinner is marmite on toast, and thats the thing he has at lunch. Hmmm

It depends on if your preschool provides morning and afternoon tea. Our preschool does and they have a snack at 9.30, lunch at 11.30 and another snack at about 2 and then a late snack at 4.30. the only thing I need to provide is lunch and if your doing morning sessions you will want to pack a lunch for him.

The one my DH "works" at provides morning and afternoon tea and lunch .. so it would pay to check what they provide.
Although the kids all have a change of clothes and shoes and extra nappies and bottles (and any "special" items that make them feel more comfy, like snuggle blankets)
Is he going into care so you can return to work?

No he's going into care so I can have a break from him and so he can have some other baby interraction.
Yea i'll find out what they provide in the way of morning and afternoon tea - would make it easier.

ohhh cool for Thomas!!
Qwanell has a lunchbox!! its CUTE which we pack his lunch for play center,
I was going to put Qwanell into day care but decided that i wont just yet as if they are under the age of 15months they go into a play pen kinda thing in there own little area , But since hes nearly 15months he probably be able to be with the children over 15months, and plus they wanted to no about his bottles and when he has them and all but because i don't have a routine for him with his bottles etc i thought bugger it what a lot of hassle,
but my son needs to interact with other children so thats why we go to play center and mainly music!!

That's great you could get into the DC you wanted. My tip is name everything and don't send him in any clothes you want to keep nice.
