I am really struggling with the death of my MIL the rest of the family seem to be ok,but not me we went to the house the other night for tea and I hated it it seemed so wrong being there without her all I wanted to do was cry. I think I am finding it especially hard as I don't really have my mother round(not that I would want her. My son is going to be one next week and it is just not going to be the same without her here.

Hey Deb, have been wondering how you are, have you told your man how you feel? I strongly doubt that everyone else is fine - maybe they are putting on a brave face... if you talked to them you'd probably find them all feeling the same way you do. Your MIL sounded like she was a great support to you so it's ok to feel like you do. Pm if you want to chat.

Big hugs Deb. I lost my dad 2 years ago and still think about him every day and cry ALOT. Tell everyone how your feeling. And share lots of special stories too!

I second all of the above thoughts and just wanted to add that everyone deals with these things differently. My partner tends to hide away from his emotions and put on a happy face, it has taken me a long time to figure out that although it seems like it he does not act like this because he doesn't care, it is just his way.

Do a lot of talking and a lot of crying, Marias thoughts of sharing special stories sounds lovely. And always remember that there are heaps of ladies here who will help you out in any way possible, even if it is just listening when you need it!

Hugs to you...

nobody shows emotions the same way - you do have a right to feel sad and let people know. maybe you could have a pic of your MIL at your sons birthday.

i know what you mean. everyone grieves differently so don't feel that your way ios wrong, or that everyone else isn't feeling the same way. my grandfather died 7 years ago and we were very close (jake shares his name - middle) and when i see jake sometimes i think about how much he woulde've loved being with my grandfather out on the farm.

Well we are ok I did a big thing today I went to the hospital outpatients(my MIL worked there) I promised I would still bring Alan into visit it was ok I was really fine until I saw someone at her desk, but the ladies were so nice and so happy to see Alan I was able to tell them about baby as well so they are all very excited and want to see my tummy grow.  to you. I think People do grieve differently it is such a sad time when someone you loves dies. I agree with someone who said that they are probably just putting on a brave face too. Sounds like a wonderful visit today and nice they were all excited about your baby and your little man.

huggles to you
