Topic: *dies of embarrassment* Posted: 22 July 2009 at 6:58pm |
Well, tonight I decided to pop into Foodtown for a spot of shopping and so chucked on my hoodie and jeans and off I went. Did my shopping, got to the checkout and the chatty young checkout operator greeted me, then started the beep-pack process..
Aaaanyway..she got through the first bag and asked if it was too heavy. I said no.
She replied "Oh that's good, I could see you are a little bit expecting and wanted to make sure it wasn't too heavy"...
I didn't point out I am not pregnant..I just smiled and nodded, then picked up a couple more chocolate bars from the checkout stand to console myself later..
Yikes.. I was sure I wasn't that big to be mistaken for pregnant?! *takes another bite of the kit kat* LOL

LOL, thats happened to me too! One of DHs friends asked him if I was pregnant, *cringe*
I NEVER assume people are pregnant, because I would die of embarrassment if I were ever wrong.

Yeah I wouldn't ever assume someone is pregnant either, but she's young and maybe when she loses her teenage figure she'll never ask again! haha
btw I have eaten almost half of a family sized Kit Kat now

I've had to ask someone if they were pregnant , at work we need to know if someone is because we can't do xrays on them , and women don't always update their details on the patient forms , so we have to be on the safe side .
Very awkward tho

caitlynsmygirl that is quite understandable as it is part of your job.
about 8 weeks after Megan was born I had suspected kidney stones and I was asked if there was a any chance I could be pregnant just to be on the safe side for the xray..I laughed and said no I just had a baby 8 weeks ago I thikn i would cry if I was but no I wasnt offended the person was just doing their job.

Ooh yes I love the family sized kitkats!
When I've had xrays in the past (pre-children) they've always asked if there was a chance I was pregnant. They never just presumed, and you know it's just a safety procedure.
After having Gia (she was 11 weeks) my 2 sisters were both still pg and a family friend asked how long I had to go. I said I'd already had my baby, and she apologised and said she got confused about who'd had their baby and who was still pg! I understood that, but the fact I must've still looked pg wouldn't have helped!

I would look on the upside, she said "little bit" pregnant and you have had 2 kiddies, your youngest at 9 months, so your doing pretty damn good lol. It's taken me 3 years to try and get the tummy under control haha!
Hmmm seriously i have been craving chocolate so much lately, though i get a crunchie and twix

LOL, I was day 4 post Daniel and still in hospital and one of the other new mums asked me if I was being induced the next day . Obviously I was not one of those women who left hospital in her pre-baby size 8 jeans.

Yeah my weight is all boobs and belly lmfao...only once have I been asked how far along was I...and I said I just had him...(yea like a year and a half ago lmfao). Ah that's one of many advantages men have over woman...they'll never get asked when's the baby due....unless in a cheecky sort of way.
