   Hello ladies,
I am starting a second round of IVF soon and the FS is down regulating me for 3 months with a drug called Zoladex. It is supposed to suppress my endo and increase chances of getting pregnant. Has anyone tried this drug before? I'm a bit nervous about the side effects.

 Any thoughts are most welcome.

Hi MaryNZ, sorry I don't know anything about the drug but didn't want to read and run and wanted to wish you all the best for your upcoming IVF cycle!

Lol, yes it does rather doesn't it!
Good luck, have you started taking it yet? I will be interested to see how you get on, I have endo too, had lap surgery last year to have it removed but it does worry me that it may be back already. |

Nope, not yet. Just picked it up today to have it ready to take to my GP to administer it (it's one injection a month for three months) on the first day of AF. It's so weird to be looking forward to an AF!!!
I had a laproscopy last September and IVF in March, this year. The FS, in my review, thought that it was probably the effects of the endo that caused my IVF to fail. He mentioned that the endo may have been stressful to my ovaries so taking the Zoladex will, hopefully, give my body a break from the hormones that aggravate it. It puts you in a menopause type state though (my poor DH!) so I'm a bit nervous.

I see you started IVF in April, is that right? (I'm new to this forum thing so sorry if I'm being nosey) How are you finding things second time around?

Yah for picking up the drugs and being all ready for next AF, bring it on!!
I had laproscopy last year in October also and my FS (same Dr who did the surgery) seemed to think it wouldn't have come back by now, so thats interesting what your FS says, its so hard when you hear conflicting stories isn't it!

Totally understand your nervousness, I think all the IVF drugs play havoc with our hormones and generally not in a good way, esp for DP's and DH's!

And yes thats right, I have just started round two, just had BT today to check for down regulation, so just waiting for the phone call and then onto the next round of injections. So far, so good though, have felt a bit more at ease with this second round, probably because I know more what to expect, the first round I found a bit of a nightmare!

Good luck and keep us posted with how you get on.

Yep, the old 'inconsistency of the Drs' ... and they wonder why we ask so many questions. Glad to hear you are finding round two easier and all the best with your blood results today.
