I am on the injection at the moment until things settle down some (will be on it for about a year). I have had it a couple of time before, but this time I'm getting really nasty pains that feel like period pain (I am due for another injection in 4 weeks) and constant nausea, plus I get pains that feel like another cyst is developing. Has anybody else had this on the injection??? If it continues I will go to the doc, but just wanted to know if anyone else has had the same.
I have had depo and I didn't have any side effects at all. I have heard nausea can be one but don't actually know anyone who has had it. I haven't heard of the other pains. Sounds extremely uncomfortable.
Thanks ladies. Yes it is very uncomfortable (and makes me extremely emotional - I'm forever in tears beause of silly stupid little things). I wonder if it may have something to do with my endometriosis as well.
I was on the depo for a while and i will NEVER go on it again! it caused so many problems for me including TTC probs so i personally would so not to go on it again
i was on it 5 years and although i had no problems i wouldnt go on it again.. yeah i would check it out with doc I havent heard of those kind of side effects either:(
My sister had quite a bad reaction to depo, and my doc never let me have it as he's anti prescribing it to people that haven't had children due to TTC issues. Sorry I know that doesn't help but I would probably reconsider having it again if its making you feel so lousy.
Could they put you on a high-dosage oral instead? I was on Estelle for my PCOS and it seemed to be OK (although I did gain a lot of weight)
i am on depo now and have had none of those side effects you are describing. Generally though wtih any contraception I've taken i have had little to no reaction.
I switched back to Depo as I've got pregnant twice on the pill. Generally I have never had any side effects etc while on any form of contraception, except now I'm getting these. I know about the TTC issues (part of why I'm only going to be on it for 3-4 jabs) so yeah, considered that when I went on it.
