Can anyone recommend a moving company in Auckland or the North Shore?

We're moving about 5kms - on the North Shore - and I'd prefer to contact companies that have been recommended.

We'll do most of the boxes ourselves but will need a company to do the furniture.

We used these guys to pack our stuff and transfer it all the storage unti before we went overseas, and then we used them again to move it into a house when we got back. They are a bit "rough around the edges", but couldnt fault them at all. Only one thing got broken and that was DH not them!

We've just moved cities and used Allied Pickfords. I cannot recommend them enough!!!

I know you are going to do your own packing, but they did everything for us and it was fantastic.

They came in one day when the house was looking totally normal. We had done virtually zero prep. In the space of a few hours, they had boxed up our entire house (3 beds), and loaded the truck with everything but our overnight essentials. The next day they finished loading and were off. When they delivered to the new house, I got to sit on a chair with a giant inventory and just tick things off as they came off the truck, and direct the guys where to put things. Then they put all the furniture back together for us.

Really great service, lovely staff, would totally use them again. Not sure on prices for just a few kms - our job cost nearly $6k, but that was for a 200km move, including all packing, $1600 was insurance, and they stored our belongings for a few days as well between settlements. (Corporate move too so we didn't have to pay!)

They will come and give you a free quote, just give them a call.

Thank you! Will contact both.

Do any places do flat rates or is it only hourly?

Ours was costed by cubic metre - we had 37 cubic metres, so quite a lot really. If you want insurance, that is done either by CM as well, or by dollar value. I think ours was insured for $100k (replacement value of everything)
