does anyone else who is breastfeeding have a boob that fills up faster than the other. My right boob fills up three times faster than the left. It makes feeding a challenge somethimes as it feels as thou only one boob has milk in it. I've tried expressing to increase the production and leaving her to suck on it for longer but nothing. I'm starting to feel like a lopsided milk tanker.....
i actually got told once by a plunket nurse that it's not the amount of time that the baby spends on the breast but the amount of times it's drained. so maybe offer the left side first and then when that's drained, offer the right. i have the same problem but that's because maia prefers feeding from the right breast so it always seems to be fuller than the left, i can definitely sympathise with the lopsided feeling! how old is your baby? after a while the milk production settles down and your boobies don't get so full anymore.
shes 6mths. I've tried that but she has this thing that if the milk isn't coming out fast enough she cries and pulls off. the leftie is slow to drain also. oh well we'll keep trying
