Topic: Ideas for a 3 year old birthday party... Posted: 06 November 2008 at 10:01am |
For Miss Lucy.
We are having a combined party for Lucy and Zoe as their birthdays are 7 days apart, but going to make more of a big deal for Lucy.
We are having it at home, and it is going to be a princess/ fairy theme. Can't afford a bouncy castle now, so what are some games that we can play?

Do kids still play traditional party games - pin the tail on the donkey, pass the parcel, have scavenger hunts, musical chairs?

Oh wow...PARTY!! I love Parties!! LOL
Its a shame that you are in CHC as I have a princess bouncy castle (blow up) one at home!!
If you have many parents involved you could always but some jewels + glitters + ribbons and get the kids to make their own crowns masks etc (with adult help).
I hope they have a great birthday!! sounds like loads of FUN!!

Thanks Roksana!
BTW - where did you get your blow up bouncy castle from? I was bidding on one on TM, but it went up to high!
Great ideas!
Yep, fluery, I am sure that we will be playing some of those games... treasure hunting for some goodies.

Snap Roksana, I was going to suggest you could do a crafty activity too. Since it's a fairy theme you could make fairy wands and get the kids to decorate them with paint and glitter or you could make some simple tutu's with tulle and the kids could decorate those wth glitter and glue and sequins. I love the crown/tiara idea too.
You could play the traditional games but with a fairy twist (pin the wand on the fairy - using bluetack not thumb tacks)

I was planning a princess party for Keiras 3rd Birthday. Didnt end up happening but I had most of it sorterted.
We we going to have a treasure hunt and pass the parcel.
We also had brought her a few games like Elefun that the kids could play.
We had bubbles and music to dance too, we were going to set up a gazebo and have lots of pink pretty stuff, like lots of cushions and a low table to eat at.
The cake was going to be going to be a princess cake (a barbie with a cake skirt). We were going to have lots of pink fod like cupcakes etc. and instead of party hats were were going to have tiaras.
Sounds like fun. I think I am going to try and do it next year for her.

That's so funny Roksana, Michaela had a Mickey Mouse theme this year too! I think next year we might try and have a ballet theme (since she loves dancing) and it would be so fun for the girls to decorate their own tutus.
eta: I might need to make a tutu big enough to fit around my 7month preggy belly - lol.

Well! it goes without saying that you have to have fairy bread!
Fairy dancing , get some ballet music or something and have a few minutes of dancing (this isnt a game ,more an activitie) , little girls love to dance ...especially if they are wearing pretty dresses ....
Pin the wand on the fairy , instead of Pin the tail on the donkey .
Are there any fairy pinatas? try the warehouse perhaps
and for the food, lots of fairy bread, and pink and purple cupcakes, and ...pretty things
Have fun planning! I love planning parties

What I was going to do for McKayla's third birthday party is make cupcakes and then all kinds of different coloured icing as well as some sweets ect and let each child decorate their own cupcake to take home.
(We are going away for a week instead)

Ohhh yeah I suppose they would get a bit freaked out being blindfolded! Maybe just spin them around with no blindfold?
I looove pass the parcel.. one of my all time favourite ones
