Topic: Not the news you want to hear Posted: 02 January 2009 at 6:14pm |
at 8am.
I got a txt from my sister asking me to ring her. She told me nan was in hospital and had had a stroke.
I told DH we were leaving to go to Palmy. Got the boys all ready and us showered and dressed and we left. Got to the hospital and they let us into the ward outside of visiting hours. Nan was a little shocked to see us but doing ok. the rest of my family was there and the boys were restless so we didn't stay long. Went to the in laws for a bit and then I went back to the hospital by myself to see nan. She was asleep so I just sat beside her. She woke up about 5 minutes after I arrived, but it took her a good 5 minutes to work out who I was.
She had had a small stroke and combined with her diabetes and the meds she is on for that she wsn't the best. Don't think the stroke will effect her too much as she seems to have all movement.
I have already told DH that if nan gets worse I am going back down to Palmy without the boys.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!
