For those of you whose kids have had it, how long did the blisters last? Ashleigh started getting a couple around her mouth on Friday but there are quite a few now and the gp said they are all in her mouth, on her tongue and probably down her throat. She is pretty miserable and she is having trouble eating as they hurt    So just wondering how long we can expect it to last?

Emma Rose has just gotten over it -- thank goodness. She didn't have many lesions -- one in her mouth and one on her foot. The doctor told us to get Colgate Savacol mouthwash for her mouth, put a little on a cotton bud and dab it on the blisters in her mouth (but don't let her swallow it) so maybe that would help Ashleigh. Em didn't have a very bad case of it -- it was quite mild but I kept her home and away from everyone because it's so contagious.

I'm glad Emma Rose didn't get it badly. Ashleigh has about 5 blisters around her mouth and goodness knows how many in her mouth. The gp said she has it quite badly. She only has 1 on a finger and none on her feet though. Good tip about the mouthwash - although she won't let me get near her mouth and absolutely screams the house down if I try to brush her teeth    Oh well, hopefully she gets over it soon - the blisters around her mouth look like they may be starting to dry up and scab today
