I think its part of the US anti-terrorism stuff that came in after Sept 11. But I could be wrong. I don't really see how it helps counter terrorism though!

Australian passport, it costs about $250 NZ dollars and I have to pay international courier fee as well on top of that. And I have to go to Wellington to present my applicaion as well.

Eeek I better get on and get the paper work for DH. So basically do I just print that off, he fills it out, gets it signed by a JP (can my Dad do this since he is a JP - or is DH classed as family to Dad) and the post the forms away with his old passport is that right?

TTC 6 years IVF it is IVF/ICSI round one 10 eggs, 8 mature, 3 fertilised BFN IVF/ICSI #2 = 22 eggs! 20 mature, 15 fertilised, 1 fresh transfer and 2 frosties BFN 2 Frosties still in freezer thank god

I think it wont matter that JP is related to your DH....JP is JP after all. IMO any ways! Send it in and see what they come up with....I doubt that they will put Two and two together!!

I just called the Passport Office and they said its done and was sent last Friday....WOW that is super fast....as they didnt start processing till Tuesday that week.
I called the courier company as they tried to deliver to our house....they are redirecting to postshop near work. YAY we will have her passport tomrrow!
Good on you Passport Office!!

I guess you wont be able to...but any one with a current NZ passport can ...a friend may be? We got DH's best friend to do it for us!
