ooh we love going to roto vegas (often for DHs work)sooooo.....we either stay at a Flag / Heritage Inn (349 Fenton street) or splurge and stay at the coachman 335 Fenton street) - has a spa pool in the bathroom and a calif king bed...well not a huge splurge but is nice and comfy and real close to town. My preference is the Coachman....for the spa room and the big bed!!! DH prefers the Flag but then he has work loyalty card for there anyways!

DHs family stay in a $99 per room hotel type one up by Burger King, with no character no pools, no spas, asian tour groups, etc....me - i would rather pay a bit extra, avoid the town pools and soak when i want to!

I love - but Dh wont stay there when work pays for it...the Thermal Holiday park opposite the golf course down by whakawareware - have stayed there for years (pre DH!) in the log cabins etc...they have ensuite cabins etc...and are totally within most peoples budgets. Have heated pools etc, altho further from town. BUT book quick for them as they have regulars.

DEf book real soon....rotorua has sooo much going on at long weekends beleive it or not you may miss out if you dont book soon....

thanks for that. have looked at the thermal oplace and that looks within our budget. we figured since Jake's birthday was the same time, we might stay two nights and go to that place with the lions.

oh the lion cubs are sooo cute...we had cuddles with them when we were down there....paradise valley?

the thermal park is lovely...and the pools are divine...go for a log cabin with en suite if poss...has double bed, and bunks and a little kitchenette, with tv...its pretty cheap - from memory (cause Dh wont stay there!) it is about $70 per night for the cabin...take bedding, and remember it gets colder in rotorua at night for some reason...

Book soon!!!
