Hi,

How much does your bubs eat? Bubs is 5 months old and is eating 750 ish a day in five feds (normally) she is probably reaching over 700ml in 4 feds but we are still getting her up for the 11pm fed - Plunket said to drop this fed as she is resisting having it and at best we get 50mls in (she is all on target for weight/height ...). Last night though I ended up getting up at 2am (as she woke and wouldn't resettle - happened last week as well) and she took 160ml - could this be because she has a cold/or she could be teething? She has been more or less sleeping thru since she was about 10 weeks old - so this is a shock to the system to now be up again in the night and I'm returning to work in just under two weeks and I'm not sure how we will all go if we are up in the night. Am trying to settle into daycare as well and have found that she is now only sleeping for about an hour at a time. Does anyone have an tips/hints ...

Hey Hannibal is your little one on solids yet? My boy started when he was 4months 3weeks because he started waking during the night again and had been sleeping through from 8weeks.

I would keep up the dream feed a while longer maybe - I would rather that than 2am! Maybe that 50ml is enough to get her through?

Hi - bubs isn't on solids - I am tempted though as I don't want the 2ams to start. I am hoping that 50mls is enough but she has been waking up during the night for about a week now - but normally settles again, last night she was crying a bit more. Cause she hasn't sleep much today and after her bath she has crashed out big time while daddy doing the fed - 60mls! So for tonight we will be doing a 11pm fed and it hopefully she will have a good bottle and we may get thru without a middle of the night again!

Hope you had a better night . It is such a shock when they have been sleeping well and then start waking again.

If it continues, maybe start thinking about solids - just some babyrice once a day for a few weeks??

Hi, well bubs went to bed after her 60mls just after 7.30 last night and half an hour later went beserk! She wouldn't take any food at all hubby tired to settle her but she wouldn't and it then took me till after 9 to get her settled. She woke up when we started moving around at 11 and I fed her (normally hubby) and she had 120mls. She grizzled a little bit during the night but settled again quite quickly without me getting up (hoping I didn't crash out and not hear her!). I have noticed her poos are really runny lately is this tied up with teething? (some at my hubby's work also said the tonuge poking that she has just started again is a teething sign?). I know it is definately a shock to the system getting up again but I know that something isn't right if she is doing that.

Both those things can be a sign of teething. Isobelle has had runny poos and constantly has her little tongue darting out and yesterday I definately felt something hard and sharp under the gum.

Thanks for that Saffron! Thought we might have teeth action - I can't feel anything though - or maybe I pull my finger out to soon. I can't imagine what a little tooth will look like in there!
