I have now seen it all - this link here (it's to Perez Hilton, sorry) is about a Spanish doll that cries when it requires feeding, but you don't feed it with a spoon, the child straps on a halter bra like contraption and Breast feeds the baby. Now trust me I have no issues with breast feeding at all but I find this weird and I don't know why. Thoughts?

don't find it weird or dodgy, apart from the fact it has halter top my boobs certainly don't look that pretty!
Find it more weird that virtually every other 'baby' doll comes with a bottle.
but i would never buy this doll myself, i'm sure DD can use her imagination with every other doll she has (when shes older) |

I agree Bobbie, I don't actually know why I find it weird, I just do.
And anna you are right, it is probably more wrong that baby dolls always have bottles!

ok so just read some of the comments on perez hiltons page about the doll - I don't really understand what all the fuss is over - children who see BF'ing as a normal occurence in everyday life, role play with their dolls and 'BF' them. I'm quite outraged by some of those comments. If you don't like it, don't buy it!

I didn't actually read the comments, you should see the stuff people write on his site though (which is why I never read them), most people just write crap to try and stir some trouble.

I agree its kinda... weird, but I can see the "normailise" thing and find it weird that so many dolls come with bottles. But thats another story. Both my 2 "breastfeed" their teddies and dolls, lol, from their belly buttons, ha ha

I think it is the fact that they have to put on the 'boobs' that bothers me.
haha fattartsrock, that is very cute!

Oh I only read a few of the comments, the comments are ridiculous.
Caitlyn used to "breast feed " her dolls , (she doesn't play with baby dolls anymore ) and I don't lie in bed at night going
"oh no, because she breastfeeds her baby , she will get pregnant at a young age ".If she is having sex at a young age and not being careful THEN she might get pregnant .

At first I was a bit taken back by it but after I thought about it makes way more sense than most other girls dolls out there! Maybe toys like this will make BFing more acceptable and these little girls might grow up to BF their own children, or stick with it for longer?? That can't be a bad thing. I would have thought those terrible Bratz dolls were a thousand times more likely to make "kids want to have kids"!
Excessive make-up + slutty clothes = undersage sex.
A child pretending to breastfeed her doll is hardly going to make her want kids earlier - in fact if they made it even MORE realistic so that it caused them a great deail of pain for the first week or year or so, then it might put them off having kids!

I thought perez's comments were hilarious & ignorant. ummm young girls not knowing what their nips are for ...? typically girls who already "BF" their dolls do it becoz it's natural to them as they see mummy do it. No big deal.
Anna you're right about dolls & bottles. That should be more shocking.
