   Big 2 year old today! 

It can't be true, can it?

*Flashback time!* 

I still remember so clearly, this day 2 years ago, trying to wake DH up saying "I don't want to get you all excited for no reason, but I've been having contractions since 7am" And him saying "OK" and then going back to sleep!

Then I convinced myself it was nothing all day and that I was just constipated, because the pains were irregular and would stop for an hour or two at a time. 

I realised it might be something after all, as we were preparing to go out to BIL's place for dinner. Suddenly the pains had a pattern and were getting quite sharp. 

We cancelled dinner and called the MW instead. 

She said it sounded like early labour and to call her when things got to 5 & 1.

We called her back within the hour and agreed to meet at the hospital at 8.30.

I remember my mum, who came to pick up Ella, helping me throw things into my labour bag as I breathed through the contractions, saying "We'd better get this done quick, he's going to be here soon by the looks of you!"

It was bucketing with rain as we drove to the hospital and I remember suddenly feeling intense pressure and the urge to push as we stopped at some lights. 

I had visions of being one of those families who appear in the local newspapers after delivering on the side of the road and told DH to drive faster.

I was 7cms when we got to hospital. MW broke my waters and I I was fully dilated within half an hour. Half an hour of pushing and my little guy was in my arms. 

WAAAAAAAAAHHHH! 

He's not a baby anymore!
