I had the same problem last night with my boy, he was screaming in pain for a couple of hours. Try putting gentle pressure on her tummy, making clockwise circular motions. You can also try putting her on her tummy, or across your knees and rubbing her back.

Feeding helps too - the more is in her tummy the easier it is for things to "move along".

If all else fails, you just gotta wait. For us it wasn't until 3:30 am when he finally exploded.

Unfortunately constipation is a side effect for many formula fed babies. Try either boiling prunes in water and then giving her some of that. Or a teaspoon of brown sugar in a little boiled water will move things along.

What about seeing if you can give them some lactulose....that will help soften it.

Also when you change her (this takes about half an hour) just either put her legs up by her belly (squatting lying down) or support while you have her upright. This helped move things along with Arna, either do it for 5 mins at each change or if you have the stamina (and bubs isnt too tired) at one change.

we either used the brown sugar in boiled water or would lay him on his back on my knee and pull his legs up gently, worked every time
