Emma Rose has turned into a snotmonster again (she always does this around the time of the Botany meet-up, for some reason, although this time she waited until it was over) and I'm sitting up with a half-asleep, noisily-breathing baby on my chest, as she's obviously not feeling well and doesn't want to go to bed on her own. Baby Pamol hasn't brought her fever down at all, and a friend sent me a homeopathic kit with 36 different remedies in it, so I've just given Em some belladonna to see if that works on the fever. Since I'm up anyway, I was wondering if there are any other mums on our MB who use homeopathic stuff on their littlies. What do you use and why? Does it work? Do you use "regular" meds along with the homeopathic stuff, or do you turn to the alternative stuff when the regular things fail? I'd love to hear some other experiences!

I have tried neurolink on McKayla. So no homeopathic remedies but it is alternative. And it worked like a charm. Luckily Grants like 4th cousin does it so if she needs a treatment I can take her. Only did it the one time and it really worked its charm. She started sleeping through for me.

i have some homeopathic "stuff" for my girls. Its drops give them 5 drops in water 3 x a day for about 2 weeks just to boost their immune system. We have a really good pharmacist here.

To ease a snotty nose we use salt water droplets and then that nasal aspirator to remove the mucus (or some people suck it out of their noses )

I use Arnica cream on Joey almost daily when he bumps himself He is the clumsiest kid I know! And I have given him rescue remedy twice - once on the plane to Germany when he was freaking out and once a few weeks ago when he tripped on his ball (see CLUMSY!) and gave himself a bleeding nose - he was really worked up then too. It seemed to work then but not on the plane.

My mum always gave us homeopathic medicines as kids and still hates "prope" medicines.

The belladonna worked really well -- I gave her 30c every hour for about three hours, and it came right down. One of my old workmates in the US was a homeopath so I always ask her for advice, and she usually gives me about six different things I could try (like her suggestion to bathe Em's face in urine to help clear her eczema -- um, next suggestion, please!). I'm also a big fan of arnica and rescue remedy.

SMoody, what's Neurolink? And Two Blondinis, I admit to sucking snot out of Em's nose with a nasal aspirator. She hates it and screams bloody murder. I've never used salt water droplets, is that to soften the grotty snot?

AlyAde, I'd be interested to know who your pharmacist is! The only time I used homeopathic stuff before was when I was pregnant and couldn't take a lot of the "proper" stuff. But that pharmacist wasn't very knowledgeable about what she was recommending to me.

I don't hate "proper" medicines at all, I just like the idea of "complementary" treatments and options.
