Topic: How old was your child when you... Posted: 27 July 2007 at 10:00pm |
...first left them in someone else's care?
Hannah was 19mos (to have Briona )
Briona was 18mos - to have Kryssi
Kryssi will be a mere 7mos next month and I feel nervous!!! and silly!!! haha. Especially since she almost doesn't bf in the day anyway!

Maya was 5 months and it was to go to daycare. I cried the whole time and kept visualising ambulances coming to get her coz she'd died of SIDS
The gremlins were 2 1/2 weeks and I took Maya out by herself and left them with the nanny. I can't even remember if I called to check on them I honestly couldn't have cared less (bonding issues and all). Now I drive Willie nuts if I leave them with him coz I ring all the time to make sure they are all OK.

Gabriella was nearly two months...left her with Grannie for the day while I took DH out for his birthday...went to movies and lunch....left a couple of bottles of EBM....
also had a meeting at work and left her with secretaries for nearly three hours - no bottle at that stage either.....and also would feed her and then let the junior take her for a walk to bank, or cafe etc...would last up to an hour normally.....god i loved those breaks even if it was just to work!!!

Anyway thanks to formula he is still here & not chucked out of a window- coz i lost the plot

Ollie was 6 weeks old and DH and I went to Elton John concert. I fretted (sp?) the whole time and was constantly texting my sister who was looking after him. DH and I leave Ollie with my mum one night every two weeks so that we can go out and have a date. We tend to go out when it's his bed time.

8 weeks - I went on a hens day/night party and left her with DH. I was surprisingly relaxed with it (but I thinkg thats cause it was DH who had her). I haven't left her for a night yet... I'm too chicken and I'd miss her too much

Andrew the first time long time was when he was 3 months old, me and DH went out to the movies and for dinner. The first time was for 20 minutes and that was with his Aunty (my friend) and that was only so I could have my legs waxed in peace, she offered, but he slept the whole time.
Josh he was 3 weeks, it was our 1st wedding anniversary and my mum came over and looked after the both of them. I had expressed enough milk for a feed but he just slept the whole time we were away.
The first time overnight was Andrew at 8 months, Me and DH went down to Welly for a wedding. I so over packed for Andrew (including the bottle steriliser ). He went to my parents place. As for Josh it will be a while till we leave him over night. I have the BF as an excuse, but I know in December that we have an engagement party so we weill need someone to look after the boys but i'm trying to work out how I can get MIL to come to our place to look after them.

The first time I left Tyrell was when he was 6 wks old. I went on a course for women with PND as "prescribed" by my phys dr. I cried the whole time I left him....he was with 4 Plunket nurses and thrived on the attention he got. The meeting was for a whole hour.
I let him go to my parents when he was about 8 months, was in need of some sleep. They had him for the night...I didn't sleep

Well we haven't yet, but will be going to the movies hopefully in the next couple of weeks. I have a great babysitter lined up for it - our bear friend andd her lovely 10 year old (desperate to look after Lily, but of course needs an adult!) I have no problem thinking about leaving Lily as this woman has young children herself so I know she will be up to handling anything that possibly could go wrong.
Our next planned event after that is Crowded House in Ocotber - not sure what we will do in between.

Rhiannon was 4 wks old when i first left her alone with mum, and went out crusing the mall for 3 hours with friends, but she was about 8wks old when we left her overnight as she was fully bottle feed then and sleeping through.
With the next one, as soon as he/she is sleeping through then they will be left with grandparents as well.
We have only ever left rhiannon overnight with the grandparents, and now when we leave her there she doesnt even notice we have gone until we are back..lol
