I'm planning to deliver at the hospital and then transfer for postnatal care. I will go and have a look through each of the centres but was just hoping you'd share your personal experience?

I River Ridge! Had antenatal classes there and started to birth there, but ended up having Miss H at Waikato. Was transfered back to RR a few hours later. The midwives are lovely and SO helpful.
They got my breastfeeding journey off to a great start as they were very supportive, positive and helpful

And the food is divine! Totally recommend River Ridge!

A friend had her baby at Waterford - I don't think she had any real complaints, but didn't feel like she quite got the support she wanted from the staff - they were probably quite busy, but she didn't see them much. I think she's going with River Ridge this time.

My cousin chose River Ridge and she loved it... Said she was well looked after and the midwifes etc were very nice, helpful and supportive (which was great as she was having problems with her milk coming in and baby was a stubborn latcher).

I birthed at Waterford for both kids and loved it. I went to antenatal classes there and my midwife had her clinics there too.

I was transferred to Waikato after Ollie was born (retained placenta) and then transferred back to Waterford afterwards. I was going to leave shortly after Lilia was born, but decided to stay 1 night, and a big part of that was because the food was so good!

I don't have any experience at River Ridge but have only heard good things. They are actually run by the same people so I expect standards will be similar at both.
