Yeah, and I go to work 2 days a week for a break! Imagine having 4 under 5.

Note to self: must remember to take BCP every night.

haha flissty!! i was just saying the other day that my only "me" time is at work!! Don't know what I'd do without it...

we went for a visit to a daycare centre yesterday and I have to say I was pretty impressed. The babies are all in a seperate area - they even have their own outdoor play area away from the bigger kids - with dedicated sleep staff and some really good systems in place. plus, thinking long term they're really big on siblings having time together.

plus they were quite adament about following all the mums' routines for sleep, feed etc, which has been one of my biggest probs with my homebased carer - i spend the better part of a week training him up only to have her undo it all in the space of a day!!

I'm wavering... might have to go look at some more places ...

oh gypsynite--that sux about your homebased caregiver! wish they would listen to you! sounds like you need to switch to someone who will actually listen to how you want your kid raised. I thought that was the whole benefit of having someone come into your home--to make sure they get one on one attention and follow through with how you want them raised.

Anita, that sounds really encouraging. Go back another time of day and have a look so you can get a feel for how it operates over the day. Hope you find something soon.

This is a good thread to read. As i went out to look at a few daycares today, came home in tears, none of which i feel comfortable to leave Angus at. They just dont seem like a cosy place to be, the beds look like they are at the spca in cages. Just not what i want for him, so am going to look in to home based care now. Looked on the website of Amanda's home based care. looks really good so going to go through with that on Monday and see where that takes me.

Hey Manda,

Thanks for mentioning the Amanda's website, I will also be putting Ava into care and am looking at home based care. Good to know there are a number of options- you might also want to check PORSE's website for local home based carers.
