Topic: stupid stupid day Posted: 27 May 2006 at 9:37am |
Yesterday we had a shocker of a day so had to share. Lewis opened a new bank account and we have been waiting for the ATM card to arrive. (national bank embosses so takes af ew days). Anyway, five days later no card. So we rang them, only to be told that the woman who had opened the account had gone to China the next day and had "forgotten" to order him a card. So they re-ordered it and it was supposed to come yesterday. It did not. So it will probably come today, and we can't go into the bank to get the PIN put on, so it effectively useless, and we are moving tomorrow to Gisborne
Oh yes, moving. Was supposed to move today, but our drivers stupid ujncle died (should not speak ill of the dea I know, but very inconvenient). So we can't go til tomorrow. not such a big deal.
Then in the afternoon, just after he woke up, Jake dropped a large wooden truck on his toe. He cried and cried and cried. he is usually not fazed by injury but he was beside himself, not knowing what to do. Poor little boy. Now he has a nasty black toe.
Then, we went to the Red Cross Book Sale.found lots of cool books which was cool. Anyway, on the way home, we were walking along featherston and this courier van backed into the pram. Thank god we had the new monster pram rather than the other one. Lewis banged on the back and it stopped, but not without feraking me out. I was shaking. We weren't hurt or anything. The stupid van didn't even look and just backed out so fast. i can really see how kids get run over in their drive way.
Then, at night, we put jake to bed and he kept bumping his sore toe. He ended up in our bed, crying hysterically until 1am. it was not pleasant, but on the bright side, took my mind off he van which I kept seeing in my head.
Anyway, now it's the next day so I feel better.

The driver said
"are you guys okay"
then
"didn't you see me reverse?"
then I said
"it's a bloody footpath for a start and you should have looked behind you"
him
"I have packages that I can't see past"
I then gave up in disgust....and shock I think. Meanwhile jake was saying "bye bye" to him and blowing kisses.
