Mitchell is just over 6 months old.

He has developed excema on the backs of his legs - which I went and got some cream - 'Egoderm'.

However - he now has spots over the front/sides of his neck.

It looks to be the same spots as when the excema first came up.

Anyone have any suggestions on what to use to keep it under control.

It looks dreadful - I would post a photo however someone broke into our house and stole our camera among other things.

He also has a rash around his mouth where his dummy sits.

So - any suggestions would be really appreciated!

Thanks ladies!

EDIT - the rash has only seemed to have occured sine the change of the new formula - which he has gone thru 2 tins of.

im probably totally wrong but the rash on his neck sounds like it could be heat rash. But if it is it will go when he cools down. My girls get a rash on thier neck and back all the time from being too hot.

Sorry i cant reccommend a cream. We used to get one from the chemist on perscription but my brain cant remember what it was called.

Briona was prescribed Emulsifying Ointment BP for excema. Hers was not allergy related, just heat related and I had to dress her down sometimes. Today is really hot, if he is worse you could sponge bath him for some relief.

The heat has come up really quickly lately so you can't rule that out, but the formula does sound like it could be triggering a reaction. Could you try another formula for a week or so to compare?

We use aqueous cream instead of soap in the bath, lemnis fatty cream (very sparingly) as moisturiser, and hydrocortisone cream on his spots of eczema. Use really gentle soap powder for washing and keep him as cool as poss. Hope this helps

Emma Rose has eczema on her cheeks and one or two spots on her little tummy as well, and I agree, it sucks. We've tried a million things and at the moment the two things that are working to keep it under control are: 1) Bathing her in plain water every couple of days, not every day, and 2) Using Ecostore Baby Moisturiser all over her body when she gets out of the bath (while her skin is still damp). We're going for a consultation at The Kids Clinic this week so hopefully will get some more suggestions or natural remedies from them. We tried aqueous cream but it didn't do anything, although a lot of people recommend it for use in the bath instead of soap. Good luck... Let us know if you have any success!
