Topic: Broken Posted: 17 February 2009 at 9:32pm |
I got a call from Daycare at 9.30am this morning to say Andrwe had a fall and was in a lot of pain. Took him to the dr and he said straight to Wanganui hospital. Got DH to take him so I could still work. At 1pm I get a call Andrwe has broken his arm just above his elbow .
Andrew will tell anyone that he was doing a "twisty" jump off the red box in the playground .
So he is in a soft cast for the next week and then a hard one gets put on. A good clean break I was told.

Oh poor Andrew!!! Lucky for a clean break though. Hope it doesn't take too long to heal. How are you doing?
Sorry, had to have a little giggle at the 'twisty jump'. That's so cute!!

jake only took 4 weeks to be mended enough - told em that "ice cream is good for my bones" - so with some ice cream, hopefully Andrew will be on the mend as well!

Poor wee mite, sounds like he'll get lots of attention from his friends for his 'jump' off the red boxes. He sounds like a little dare devil.

awww poor wee thing, although they seem to deal with it well. My son has just got out of a cast he is 19 months, broke his foot on the trampoline, and he was fine, running around on it so much he wore the cast right through:)
Hope he gets better soon :)

Ouch! Not looking forward to dealing with all of that down the track. I hope Andrew mends well and doesn't milk it too much Kids bounce back pretty well though, Jack had Osteomyelitis and was supposed to be in hospital for 2-6 weeks and we got released last week after only 8 days! They recover quicker than we give them credit for, so I hope Andrew's the same.
(And glad it was a clean break, usually means quicker and better mending)

He gets his full plaster cast on next Tuesday. He wants green or orange as his colour.
He is still a bit sore, but otherwise still playing, has managed to fall over twice already at DC .

Lol - an orange cast was how I met my husband.
Poor wee thing :( At least when he falls now its protected - not that that is much of a silver lining...
