Everyone has their phobias ...I can understand your fear of birds though. They are pretty darn hideous when you look up at them close.
We have a blackbird that sits on the railing outside our window ....every morning, now thats just creepy!
It's people with a phobia of clows that crack me up, how can people honestly be scared of a person wearing facepaint & silly clothes?

LMAO my Maya is pathologically afraid of clowns! As in she gets incredibly anxious at even the suggestion that there is going to be a clown somewhere. We're good at phobias in our family lol.
And crows? Ewwww! The worst of the worst. Except Cassowaries which are totally evil.

I don't like seagulls I must admit ...their eyes! They were flying low over us at the duck pond today.
AND now that I remember ...geese at the botanic gardens ...chasing us ARGH, you should have seen me literally running for the hills (man its tough work pushing a pram and running up/down hills at the same time LOL)!

An umbrella fold pram that is ....one that is not meant for rough terrain LOL! ...trust me.
I like how Mum never mentioned that they chase & attack people UNTIL we were about a metre away from a huge flock of them when they turned and started heading towards us ...never run so bloody fast in my life

Cassowaries! Man those birds are freaky! They look completely prehistoric and MEAN! I was freaking out at Wildlife World when I thought it was looking at me even though it was behind glass!

Tassie is a lovely place.....to visit! I have friends there and I also worked there for a month. The Tassie accent REALLY got to me after a while. Even old ladies sound crass.
As for the inbreedng. You think Waiuk is bad (my hubby is born and bred waiukuian), the west coast is worse, then you get Tassie, THEN you get Tassies west coast OMFG....all freaks!!!! If only I could do accents in text I could tell you a great story about Irene!
But seriously it is a beautiful state and the people have a different attitude to other aussie states. I think itsthe fact that the rest of Oz picks on them some what.....very similar ot NZ I guess
The country side is beautiful and some places are very much like NZ, I even took photos to prove that their bush is like our bush.
The houses are like ours, villas and bungalows etc.
But dont know if I'd be happy living there full time.

Emma I have a phobia about birds, for me it comes from being attacked by a goose at Western Springs when I was 3yrs old on a kindy trip.
Emus scare me, they're so big.
Doing film studies on Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds didn't help either.
I haven't been to Tassie, I have been to most of the Eastern States of Australia and I love the place, there is a lot to offer, I'm always surprised at how different Australia is to NZ.
As for inbreeding, you should try Feilding, everyone looks the same.
