Yup I'd recommend convector heater. That's what you used before the LL put in a heat pump for us. They are amazing!....Just keep nagging!! lolz. I'm glad I spoke up about the coldness of our place because not only did we get the heat pump put in but the house will get insulated soon aswell. It would be a great investment for them, and would add value to the property, and they should be making sure that the home is safe and healthy for you.

We use an oil fin up our hallway, but we have now got a nightstore heater in iour lounge and man - i love it so much. I hated our gas heater - it made my asthma bad and made our house damper. But since moving here - our house is always warm and toasty and evenly heated.

If it's a short term thing, since your landys won't spring - i'd go for an oil fin. if it's a large one like Fiona said - your girls would have to be riding it to tip it.

My nephews one was an 11 fin (so quite large) he used his entire body weight to knock it over and the weight of it (and his body on top of it) is how it managed to actually chop his finger tips off instead of just crush them.  I think the smaller ones that people use in bedrooms are actually safer because there's less weight behind them if they're tipped IYKWIM.

I don't mean to scare anyone unduly but I do think they're extremely dangerous and I personally wouldn't have them in my house.  If you're set on getting an oil heater you can get them with enclosed fins (so the outer surface is flat) which would be safer.

Yeah, they sewed them back on.  He spent a couple of weeks with a huge bandaged fist.  Like any child he was hugely resilient but every now and then he'd spot his bandages (usually when they got in the way of climbing or some other mischief) and say "ow.... poor me" and then kiss his bandaged hand.

As usual it is the adults that wear the lifelong scars.... I doubt my nephew even remembers it but my sis felt awful and now, years later my sisters and I won't use oil fin heaters at all around small children.

Ours is safely out of Elle's reach. She'd have to squish herself under our couches (impossible) to get to where it is.
