Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! Its nice to know i have some where to go to share my experience.

We found our that we can move the adoption forward, the new dates are 10th August. We leave NZ on the 8th and fly to hong kong, Then we drive two hour to the orphanages. I can't beleave it's happending so fast

Oh wow! That is sooo exciting! Congratulations on getting the date moved forward... not long now until you can bring your baby girl home.

I would like to adopt when I am older (and more patient, wealthy, and have some time to spare!) so will be watching how you go with interest.

How'd you go about the adoption process? Where did ya start? Why China? (Excuse barrage of questions!)

I havent adopted but also seriously looked into China. The cost involved from South Africa was just way too much for us but we started saving if we couldnt get our own one.

We are still considering to adopt either the next one or when we have another one wait until both is a bit bigger.

Your girl is absolutely gorgeous.
