I dont know, if she is guilty, then i think 20 years is a bit extreme BUT different countries , different laws etc.

What i do know, is that now i feel like watching that movie Brokedown Palace ....

We watched a doco last night on tv which showed some undercover footage. Schapelle was being trained up on how to respond to the media and show emotions and cry on que.
Her lawyer lied and made accusations that Qantas baggage handlers had set it up and put the drugs there. Now Qantas are demanding a public apology from her lawyer.

The weed that was found in her bag was apparently hydroponic (sp?) which is apparently like 'gold' of the streets of Bali, and can be called gold and Oz Gold in Bali.

Her sister is married to an Indonesian guy who has a surf shop in Bali. No that that means much at all but, may have connections to buyers in Bali for the weed.

IMO I think she is guity. The Aus Govt havent done anything for her because there is no evidence that suggests that she DIDNT do it.
If they thought she was innocent they would have done like what they did with David Hicks.

20 years is a long time but I guess in a 3rd world country the penalties are much tougher for what we would consider a lesser crime.

I saw that last week with the young girls, and can't help but think maybe something like that happened to Shapelle. Initially, I thought she was innocent, but after seeing that doco, maybe not.

I have read her book - I think she is Guilty from reading it..

Nothing ties up with what she says.. She just digs herself a bigger hole to be honest.
20 years - maybe a bit to long

I was wanting to read her book, when I saw it on the shelves in Kmart, but I didn't want to buy it, knowing she'd be making profit of it.  I thought she was innocent, but I really don't know.  Maybe I should get her book from the library.

That was a national embarrassment! They could have had him out of there long before they did but old Johnny boy was to scared to step on Boy George's toes. Disgusting.

I think guilty. Not that I want to spread unfounded rumours or anything but I have distant family member who lives in her neighbourhood who said the family are well known for thier 'dealings' and that its not the first time they have taken drugs over there just the first time they have been caught. Also while the family said they had no money etc.. while the trial was on the father paid the deposit on a house for her brother. Again Im not 100% sure how accurate this is and its been a while since i heard anything bout it from the famiy member but from what she said back then everything thought she was guilty

I wonder, if she hadnt been as attractive and dare i say it, white, would there be such a debate?
I think if that was the case , no questions asked , she would have been found guilty .

I used to think she was innocent , but the more i think about it now, i think she knew exactly what she was doing

I used to think not guilty, but recently I have changed my mind.

Her extended family have drug connections and Shapelle was photographed with a number of people known in Aus for dealing drugs. Her brother was recently picked up for dealing too.

And, she made four return trips to Bali in the year preceeding her arrest. Why? She said herself she wasn't a great surfer, and even if she was she lived on the Gold Coast of Australia!

my aunty used to live in australia and moved to NZ just after this all happened, she came from the same area and apparently the corby family were 'really well known for the drug handling in her area' even so, i do think 20 years is a long time, especially not on her own soil

I had also heard from a cop who used to work in the area where she lived that her whole family was well known for being involved in drugs. Up until I heard that I thought she was so innocent- but have heard a few things like that since then. The only thing I don't get is why would you smuggle pot into Bali when its worth far less there than Oz? That was why I originally thought she was innocent- just doesn't make sense.

I used to think innocent but given all the new info that keep turning up and the lastest on the lawyers making up the accusations...I'm going with guilty.
