Grrr, I SO know how you feel! MIL does exactly the same thing - and it drives me bonkers!!

I now make a distinct point to ensure the door is locked when I know they're coming over. It's just plain rudeness to wander in to peoples homes like that.

I'd definitely go with GandT's sign

My outlaws do the same thing...but only started when T was born.
We are able to lock our door now as otherwise T would open it and wander out...true but a good excuse
lol they still try to open it even when they know we keep it locked.

Man I'm just so amazed that so many people don't lock their front door! Must be an Auckland thing ay... we've always locked our door and never thought anything of it...

LOL at this time of year our doors are always open coz of the heat but more fool anyone that lets themselves in without calling out coz I have a tendency to walk around in my undies when it's hot and it's not a pretty sight!

...and again, you'd think that the amount of nudity my various in-laws have already been accidentally exposed to would have sent them the message already!

Nah, door sign it is.  I love the idea of kids making one - but don't think I'll wait quite that long!

I don't know, I've seen some pretty impressive painting come out of your place at the hands of our kiddies Andie...

OMG how annoying. I know your house and they are mad for walking in like that.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

I have a MIL that does the same! She walked into our bedroom once (door was shut) when we were flatting and we were in the middle of it... that was embarassing!

And the day before I gave birth to Jack, her and DH's cousin walked in and I'd just got out of the shower, was standing in my room which is visible from the lounge with just my knickers on. Makes a fat pregnant lady feel great! But screw them, they should knock!

Everyone knocks when they come to our place if they can't see us already (front door is to the lounge). Most of our friends just look in and then open the door which is fine by us cos everyone lets us know they're coming over before they actually do.
