Hi everyone - I am a newbie so please ba patient!
My little man is 6 1/2 months old, he still wakes for a night feed - have tried to settle without the milk, tried everything and just figure if he needs it, he gets it ! He has had bronchiolitis and takes an inhaler which has been making his throat a little dry and with all the coughing as well I figure all is ok...
Is there anyone else out there whose little person still wakes in the night at this age, if so would love to chat.

Hi Paula, welcome to Oh Baby!  I am Aimee and I have an eight month old - Hannah. She doesnt wake in the night anymore but I know of heaps of mums who still have to do it. And honestly, I take my hat off to you. If I get a disturbed night and have to get up to her, I feel so tired the next day!!

 Yeah, tired is something I'm used to, and I work as well (only 3 full days, but still a mission!). Poor little possum has had the works, Ezcthma, Bronchiolitis, and now teeth!

Would something like a vaporiser (I have a eukybear one for when Andrew's asthma plays up) keep some moisture in the room at night and help with the dry throat?

yep jams still wakes thur the night up to 2 times if i let him and hes been very sick since he was born

I'm pretty sure Hannah was still waking during the night at that age... not all the time, but when she did I just let her feed. I figured I'd get more sleep by shutting her up with milk than dealing with screaming! haha
I ended up ringing plunket at 9 months to deal with a whole lot of issues to do with who was the boss and they suggested that at that age they can be left to cry during the night and just deal with it. I did get tough and just refused to feed. But she was about 10 months by then.

My eldest was waking. At that stage we were living in Japan, and we decided to move rooms to be closer to the air conditioner (slept in the kitchen!!) and he started sleeping through the night. I think we disturbed him.
My second is just a month younger than your little one, and occasionally will wake up.

Alex is seven months and he tends to sleep through. He is dependant on his dummy so sometimes when he wakes we give him the dummy and that settles him. He's also been waking up because of teething so that could also be something to consider. Alex seems to settle after some bonjela.

Unfortunately Zaara still wakes at night for a feed. Nothing I do will make her go back to bed with out it!! I am used to it now tho....

OMG - I am soooo pleased I am not the only one ! Funny how you feel like that at times. He has 2 little teeth coming through, but they don't seem to bother him, he's never liked his pacifier (prefers his thumb!) and the bonjella is good ocasionally, he's a big boy for his age (length wise, not chubby!) so I just figure when he is ready he'll sleep, just so pleased to hear from you all and know you are out there !

Hey Katelyn still wakes during the night sometimes and she is nearly one. If she does wake i just get her up change her nappy and instead of giving her a whole bottle she only gets 100mls and that seems to do the trick with her. Good luck.

Thanks, I have tried only giving him a small amount of milk - but after he's had it all if he wants more - he soon lets me know, very quickly ! Hey question as well - how do I get a ticker to show on my messages?

Ayja is 13 months and still wakes most nights for a tiny top up - she has never had a dummy so hasn't learnt to self settle properly yet cos mummy's too tired and can't be bothered with the screaming when she had to get up for study the next day.
hang in there - 6 months is still little and perfectly normal for bubs to be waking during the night.

That's good to hear, thanks very much. He self settles quite well (been an avid thumb sucker from really early) but just wants that drink !
