Well, I know everyone has different opinions on them, usually to the extremes, they are great, or they are the devil, but Ethan hasn't had a bottle since yesterday afternoon, he seems to be able to latch when i use them, and isnt waking for a feed 30 mins later like when i dont use them. Point is I am buzzing, its soo good to have my baby feeding off me at the moment. yay.

Yay! I have got some here to use if and when my blimmin nipples ever heal. The LC told me that bottle fed babies often take to the breast better with niple shields coz they bear a closer resemblance to the teat.

Does any one have an opinion if i should still express after each feed, as my boobs still feel very full. I wont give up the xpressing all together as i quite like using the bottle for last feed at night so i know he is getting a good feed and a long sleep, but should i empty myself after feeding him?

Don't stop the expressing cold turkey, I did that with Maya and ended up with very nasty mastitis from not draining the breast properly. If you want to keep expressing go for it, otherwise just gradually space the pumping sessions further and further apart until you've stopped completely. Eg. if you're expressing 3 hourly, put it back to 3 1/2 hourly, then 4 hourly etc. to let your milk supply settle gradually.
Were you expressing one feed each session, or were you expressing extra? Coz if you were only expressing one single feed then your milk supply should be pretty much in sync with what baby is taking from the breast, but if you were expressing extra as I am then you will still be a bit full after breastfeeding.

yeah, I was getting quite a bit more than one feed at each express.
I will put my expressing back to 4 hourly, if he keeps up doing this well, he was a bit ratty before and i thought he might be hungry so i offered him the bottle and he didnt take it, i thought that was great, so he must have had a good feed.
