Topic: Were back Posted: 05 November 2007 at 3:39pm |
Just a quick one to say hello and wish everyone well.
Fay and I (oh and Neil, of course) are back from our travels and really happy to be home.
To everyone who has family relationship problems I offer my sympathy, there had to be a reason we left all our relatives in the UK and came out here alone. If I hear one more time "oh, is that how they/you do that" or 'is she warm/cool enough, do you want another cardigan/hat, do you think she's hungry/she has eaten alot, are you sure she needs a snack now?" Getting used to the luxury of being able to ignore all those people round me with opinions cos they are not my mother.
Caught up with lots of friends tho which is always great and it was nice to see Fay with her nanny and Grandads, but home is best.
Fay learnt to crawl while we were there, I learnt that I am glad that we decided to move to NZ, as I would not have been able to spend all this time with her if we did it in the UK, I would have been back to work fulltime a long time ago.
Now I get to enjoy the next five weeks then it's back to work 2 days a week for me.
Catch up soon and I will update my ticker and put some photos on the gallery soon
Claire

I know exactly what you're saying! But my family followed us out here to be here for Caitlin growing up so it would be a bit rude to move country again
Glad you had a good time. I have no desire to go back to London ever again

Hey Claire Welcome home.
What part of the UK are you from? I'm from Kent. Have been out here for nearly 4 yrs. We went back last October for a visit and couldn't wait to get back home. England is a hell hole. Unfortunately for us we were actually better off financially in the UK, but hey, still wouldn't want to go back. Plus wouldn't have the money to buy our old house back now anyway so would end up in a manky 2 bed flat or something.

We come from Northamptonshire, so nice and rural, but there are soooo many poeple, I'm sure they weren't there 4 years ago, they must have sneaked in when we left. I got really freaked out in Manchester in the Arndale Centre at lunchtime on a Saturday, I nearly ran back to our hotel.
Yep glad to call NZ home, although it was nice to watch the Rugby WC (sorry shouldn't really mention it) locally and at normal times tho

Welcome back Claire glad your travels was safe and happy. I know after our travels it was nice to get home to some 'SPACE". Our house just seemed huge - so much more bigger.
