Because of this list i got daniel the little yellow digger and the gruffalo and they are a huge hit!

Daniel loves the ear book, nose book and eye book. They are Dr Suess ones but not the classical Dr S ones

There has been research done about children who are read rhyming books from a young age perform better in reading and writing when they start school, it is to do with the ability to hear rhymes. So great books include anyting by Lynley Dodd, Dr Suess, my cat likes to hide in boxes, author escapes me, one of my favourites is Why dogs sniff bottoms, again can't think of author sorry. But also hould add that even if the book seems far to sophisticated for a young baby it is the rhymes they benefit from so hopefully that helps. There are so many great childrens books thou!
