K well I'm sure many of you have heard or read in the news about the guy in Hamilton who drove into a crowd of people, hit a girl, drove off when pursued by police, picked up 5 female hitchhikers, rammed a few police cars, and then crashed. Well I'm "lucky" enough to know him personally. His partner is my partner's cousin. Anywho he's had a lot of mental health problems over the past 20 years, been in and out of the system. To top that off he's also a drug addict, mostly doing dope and P these days.. (has done all the other stuff before...not sure if he still does)....no wonder he's a headcase!!. "Love" really clouds people's judgements. I think 3 weeks into their relationship they moved in together (into his mum's place....he's 34 and cousin n law is 33)...about 3 months later they're engaged! So CIL was always saying she sees past his physical appearance (he's like over 300Kgs maybe even 400Kg), and that no one knows him the way she does. No one in the family like him, and it is out in the open. I always gave him the benefit of the doubt...that was before he told lies to another family member about me....(just think wedding, hotel mini bar, stuff missing from minibar, cue the lies saying I took things from their minibar..and that they had no money to pay for it..yet they were spotted at Mcdonalds with lots of food the next day!) Ok so CIL didn't really know about his P habit, but over the last couple of months she said he's changed. He's like a Jekyl n Hyde, going off at her for no reason, being all angry one minute and then completely normal the next. So apparently he's been wanting help (or a free holiday) and has been admitting himself the Henry Bennet (mental health ward) for like a day or two then leaving, changing nothing in his life. CIL complains about the mental health team here because she thinks HB is a hotel where he can come and go as he pleases. One time he was sectioned under the Mental Health Act.....and what does CIL do? She seeks legal advice and has the section over turned!!. She complained again because she says a medical ward was overdosing his drugs when he was admitted for cellulitis in his legs....saying that when they discharged him he was falling asleep in his food at the table when they got home (my bet is on illegal drugs mixing with his medication). Anywhooooos my partner has disowned the cousin, we took her in the day after the ramming incident happened, we found out that a similar scenario had happened involving her, where he shoved her out of the car, she tried to unlock the door and he started driving off with her arm stuck in the window. After all that, she still wants to work things out ROLL MY EYES!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I don't know why but she thinks he'll change.  I've told her time and time again that he's going to have to want to change for himself, no one else can make him change. Another thing is that she said she wanted to spend this time away from him to give them both space and time to work out things. Now he's been released on bail....and where is she, right next to him at his mum's place. Ai Ai Ai!!!!!

Ok so such a looooong rant but man I just had to get it off my chest!. I'm just so sick and tired about all this drama. CIL didn't even know that he was a P seller for the killer bees and was part of the big raid thing that happened a couple months back. Imagine that, why the heck would you want to be with someone that your entire family hates, that constantly tells lies and takes off to places without telling you. And who keeps huge secrets from you like....I'm a P addict and I sell P for the killer bees!!....Gees...Anywho my MIL says he'll be dead within the next year due to his size and his cellulitis......either that or his drug life is gonna catch up with him....before he does kark it I hope he pays for my lounge suite he broke!!

Wow.  Isn't it an old curse "may you live in interesting times".

I wonder if your CIL needs help, I can't imagine anyone staying with someone like that unless they have major self-esteem issues.

I think your partners done a good thing choosing to distance yourselves from them.

p.s. I'd write off the lounge suite, I'm not sure that a lounge suite is worth it if it means you have to have anything to do with him.

Yeah I'm quite certain she does have self esteem issues. Previously she was in a relationship where her partner would have online relationships with woman, even texting and calling them. It took her a couple of years to get out of that relationship, and I think the only reason that happened was cause he left to pursue an online relationship with someone else, and we just happened to be there to pay her ticket back home from Brisbane. Also previously she had a 4 year relationship with someone that was totally online!. But yea she is so blinded by what she thinks is love that she's unable to see the kind of life she's having to deal with. Her mum wants her to go back home, but CIL wants to stay at work things out, saying that you can't always run home when situations arise, you need to experience life blah blah blah, yet she doesn't realise that no one should have to experience those kind of situations. Maybe she sees a silver lining as my partner was able to overcome drugs shortly after he and I moved in together. But he genuinely wanted to stop, and he seeked, mental health services to help him. But for someone who has a long history of drug use, and has been in and out of the mental health system for 20 years and never followed his medication through, I see little hope for him to change. My partner is just tired of bailing his cousin out all the time, and I don't blame him. For the 3 years that we've lived together he's always offered to have her live with us, he's tried to get her employment, she's a beneficiary. When they were both over in Oz (he went over for a job interview, she moved there with ex partner I mentioned before) he paid for her ticket to fly back for their grandmother's funeral, and when both DP and I were over there to live, he payed for her ticket home when we decided to return (because DP ended up being the only one working, I was preggers, and CIL and ex-partner were week's in arrears and no food). We offer her a room when she said she wanted to have a break from the current partner, but everything is all in vain.

As for the lounge suite!, I just can't wait to get a new one. Due to his size he broke it and now it sits on the floor with no legs!...not good for my back lol.
