Whats really good for clearing out sinus's??
I have a sinus infection. Am on antibiotics but my sinus is sooo painful and sooo clogged. I didn't get any sleep literally last night. I was in bed for 10 hrs and didn't fall asleep once because of this. My head is just aching and throbbing, its awful

Probably Alanase (sp?) might pay to ask the pharmacy though.

what about breathing steam with maybe vicks or eucalyptus oil in it since you dont want to take anything strong judging by the other thread Might help clear it for a little while. But i dont have much experience with sinus infections so its just a suggestion.
Panadol should be safe to help with the pain. Otrisal Nasal Spray was given to me when i was preg and had a really bad cold if your wanting to use a spray.

otrivin is probably the nasal spray... it's the only one that remotely helps me out when I have a sinus infection. The Dr gave it to me when I was preggy too.

*hugs* kebakat, it really does hurt for the first day or so, using Otrivin, mainly because your poor infected nose isn't liking exposure to the air again, rather than the mucus!! But you can take comfort in the fact that the oxygen getting in will be killing the nasties and that your nose won't hurt for long now that you can keep it a little clearer.

I love Olbas Oil you can get it from chemists and I think health food shops. It has eucalyptus plus other good oils for decongesting you.
I do steam inhaling with it and also put a few drops on my pillowcase while I'm sleeping.
they also do losange thingys which are pretty powerfull and not to everyones tastes but I like them and they help to decongest you too.

I like Olbas Oil too although I find it a bit overpowering using it on my pillow so stick to just putting a drop on a hanky and "sniffing" that when I need to.
I always found chewing Airwaves gum good short term relief when I lived back in NZ.

Putting your head over a bowl of hot water with karvol in it and inhaling the steam every hour helps clear your sinuses.
Also, Panadol Sinus Relief tablets are really good.
