Topic: What a day (rant) Posted: 05 May 2008 at 6:54pm |
Well I woke up in a good mood but not so much now! Neosha is normally behaved enough to get through a day and even really good when we r out with Kellz and Isla but TODAY was the most terrible day I have ever had.
We went to have a coffee this morning and she was fine for the first 5 mins, then another little baby arrived and something clicked she tipped the water all over the table and knocked everything on the floor the lady working at the cafe was kind enough to give me another muffin but it didnt stop there she went all stiff in the hairchair and started screaming and kicking her legs so I let her out, then a lady that was sitting behind me came over to tell me that by giving her what she wanted I would be etching this type of behaviour into her daily routine I was just trying to defuse the situation. The screaming then got so bad that I had to leave because people were complaining so I picked her up and she was just kicking and screaming LITERALLY. I was so embarressed. Had a huge struggle to get her in the carseat not realising how strong she really was she grabbed my face and scratched me I swear she had such a hateful look on her face! But it doesnt end there we get home and she was hitting the cat into the window so I told her NO and offered some toys and she threw herself backwards into the ranch slider and bumped her head letting out a roaring scream, I checked her head then freaked out and drove her to the medical centre (another fight between me, her and the carseat) and waitied to be seen they checked her over she was fine and we could go so we came home and she slept for a while then we had in laws coming for dinner and the screaming started all over again she wouldnt eat and kept knocking the spoon away so we tried water and bread and she just threw everything on the floor so I let her out of the highchair and she proceeded to go around the table hitting everyone and screaming in such a high pitch. I have just bathed her and put her to bed now and feel like crying. DH is playing on the xbox... great help. I dont understand how an 11 month old can do all this I have never seen this behaviour before!!!!!!!
Contemplating never leaving the house again

Oh no! That doesnt sound like her at all,...but it does sound a heck of a lot like Isla,...hope her behaviuor isnt rubbing off on Neosha . Grrr about the rude lady in the cafe, some people just dont know when to keep quiet.
Maybe shes teething or gtting a cold,...sometimes when Islas behavious is out of the ordinary to the extreme like that,..we find out in a day or so that there is something up,..like teething.
Hugs Im sure she will be back to her usual cheerful squealing self in no time!

woah that sounds like an awful day. Any idea what set her off? Is she coming down with something or didn't sleep well last night?

oh hun, what a crap day!
It sounds like this is pretty rare behaviour so likely to be illness or teething, I hope that tomorrow is 100x better.

She was probably just tired of being a good girl most of the time she decided to give her mummy a bit of a fright , ah children....bless .
Tomorrow she will probably have got it all out of her system (unless as the others say she may be feeling a bit off colour ) thing with children, they are unpredictable, Caitlyn could be a little angel at times, and others i literally tried to chase people down so i could convince them to take her off my hands .
It gets easier once you work out which technique works best with them, eg distraction, calmness, authoritive, you'll be sweet chick
btw , Neosha, thats such a pretty name :-) , where did you find it ?

WEll Neosha is one of the chicks names out of CHERISH we bought their CD and it was written on the cover and we were like yup thats the one lol. Its an american name.
She has woken up in such a better mood today, hopefully it stays that way because yesterday was so out of character. The night before last I did hear her up a few times so maybe she was just over tired
Kellz I very much doubt its Isla lol dont worry bout that I guess it had to happen one day!
Its weird because sometimes when I see parents yelling at their kids or fighting with them I would think ur making it worse but I wouldnt go and tap them on the shoulder and give out free parenting advice!

Lol Kelly! I was thinking last night about what I would have said if someone said that to me,..actually Im suprised it hasnt happened yet,..Isla isnt exactly a calm quite child,..anyway,,.....I was thinking man if I had the balls I would love to say "Well u obviously think u could do better than me",....and hand Isla to them and walk out! Lol! Of course I wouldnt do it,...but man some days when islas going nuts it would be so easy to put a "free to a good home" sign on her forehead
