Topic: Aww Man I knew it was gonna happend but Posted: 13 August 2007 at 9:59pm |
am so gutted!
We have been in our rental property for about 4 Months and after the first month the owner took it back from the real estate agents, which we thought "Oh NO" at the time and when she rang me I asked her straight up was she thinking of selling? And yup my thoughts were correct we got a phone call on our answer machine at the weekend saying her intention is to sell and a letter today to say she is listing it this week! We are gutted as we would never have moved if we knew this was gonna happen, And today I have found out that the school where Braedon is enrolled is going to zoning term 4, he does not start till next may so now that I know the zone we can find a property with in the zone and preferably closer to the school and kindy, it just sucks as I am so over moving!!! We have had to move around so much lately due to houses being damp, horrible neighbours etc! And everything is so expensive!!! It is really getting me down and I am trying to be positive!
OK vent over thanks for listening!

That really sucks! You poor thing, I hate moving too! I bet you are so annoyed!
I have a sneaky suspicion our landlord is about to do the same thing to us though Our last 2 houses that has happened to us within 6 months of moving in. Our last one was awful because even though I was very pregnant the horrible landlord wouldn't let us out of our lease and we ended up moving when I was nearly 8 months pregnant!

I know how you feel. When we moved into a rental property last year, we thought something was up when the 2nd day of moving in a real estate agent came over showing people around!!. The landlord never told us anything about it beforehand. When we told him that people had been coming over he said he just wanted to see what it was worth and assured us that he was not selling at all, but to still let them in *roll my eyes. Well he did put it on the market!. He also use to come around unannounced. So we had to leave the place because he sold it. We had a lot of problems with him

A lot of homes are sold with tenants still... going on the market doesn't always mean you'll have to move out.

I hear you on the dampness thing we have been trying for ages to get them to come sort our house out I even rang them and told them we need to move this house has the worst mould problem they still not been to look not even rang me back. So now we are on the hunt for yet another house, but there are so few here in the Naki at the momnet and heap's are on the market. pity we can't afford to buy really. we are so over moving as well. Good luck finding a house chick hope it does not take too long and you find the perfect one for your family.

I hear what you are saying Teresa but this is the sort of house that a family would buy not really an investment property we shall see but if something comes up then we will def move, I don't want to be sitting in a house that is up for sale and having loads of people coming through for open homes and poking through my things why should we if it was our own home then I wouldn't mind but it isn't!
Oh debs sounds like you are having rotton luck with renting like us it really sucks aye, and with low incomes it makes it very hard to buy a house and yes I could go out to work but I did not have my kids to put them in the care of someone else, no offense to those who do go out to work, but that was not my intention I will go back to work when they are at school , I am currently looking for night work to help us get ahead but that does not seem to be that simple either at the moment!
