Topic: Whose getting this wild weather? Posted: 28 February 2009 at 12:17pm |
It was suppose to hit us this afternoon, but it woke through the night to the lashing winds and heavy rain!
I know up North is getting it as well, but how far down the Island is this "tropical storm" hitting?
Usually I wouldn't mind a day of this wet weather and being at home, but we have a progessive dinner tonight, meaning we have to leave home! I really don't want to go, but I know it would be rude to pull out. It's just soo vicious out there!

Don't know if it just went around us or it's just a lull, but we're northwest of Auckland and it's gone from here. Properly hit at around 10pm last night and was over by this morning - it's actually quite nice here now - so it might be gone by the time you have to go out tonight

Yup, yucky weather here in Hamilton too! I didn't think the heavy rain warning kicked in from an estimated 3pm Saturday until 3am Sunday yet we've already had a fair bit. There's enough water in the upside down paddling pool for Blair to get out and go for a wade

Really wet here... I'm hoping it doesn't delay our flight out to America today.

It is windy and raining in the middle of the island, and cold .
My friend has gone up to Kai iwi Lakes (near the top of the north island), and I think she was mad to leave last night. I do hope they are all ok thou.

Its gotten colder, this morning it was still quite warm. Rain comes in bursts and windy as usual hasn't stopped the racing at Manfield though.

Disgusting here!
Hannah's (previously empty) paddling pool has 15cms of water in it and it's still absolutely bucketing down!!
We had to go out in it this morning - not choice!

Pretty foul here too - been raining on and off since during the night but has started pretty heavy this afternoon and really windy. Have moved the trampoline to the safest point of the garden so hopefully it won't blow away lol. Going out for dinner to friends house - they only live about 200m up the road but I think we are driving there somehow!

It must really cold here. The last day of summer and most of the house on my street (including mine), have both fires in their house going.
Still very windy and cold here.

It has cooled down in Palmy to the point where I am wearing a jersey (for the first evening since I don't know when) and the wind and rain is just lashing around like winter. I'd say it's now officially autumn!

I don't think it lived up to the forecasts here tho, it was far worse last week when we had the last big lot of rain.
