Ok, whos done them and any tips? I am too tight to pay a professional and am snap happy but I would like some ideas of things people have done. How you got the lighting right etc. I want to get some nice shots of Tom for Xmas cards, pressies etc (I figure I can be real cheap on Xmas pressies for the grandparents for a few years yet with photos of their one and only grandchild )

We have tons of pics of Daniel.. Make sure you have a nice background. We usually pop Daniel on our big bean bag which is a steel grey colour or on one of his mats which is baby blue. For light. It's best if they don't get shadows on their faces especially around their eyes. But you also don't want it to be very light.. we do most of our photos on a day that is nice and sunny but cloudy so the light isn't too sharp.

Get a digital camera and just snap away, some of our best ones are ones when we have just snapped, other times we have set the girls up dressed up andl et them go for it (like the fairy pics i posted ages ago and the massey pics i did not too long ago) I love pics that aren't posed, they just don't capture our girls spirits as well as they could - we decided this after going to get pixie photos done when paris was 11 mths, and she was doing the cutest things but the lady wouldn't take pics because "they weren't right" - we would have loved picstures of her throwing all the teddies (you know the teddies in the suitcase pose) all over the floor a million times. lololol.

I think the cutest pics i got of Ayja's first xmas, was dressing her up in a red suit with white stars on and putting a santa hat that was a little bit too big on her, and giving her some tinsel to play with.. was soo funny and neat pics - but then she was 7mths so a bit older. but still, just set up something, let him do his thing when he's in a happy fed mood, and go for it - you know him best and know what makes him smile etc.
