I confess - I blubbered big time! Thank goodness, DH was in the office and so didnt tease me..........blah - hormones!
I dont like the guy that much but I have only heard whats in the media and I know how it twists things so much. Still, the guy cares for big cats, and so I cant help but watch it.

Yup I second Mel, the program is about his animals & work - NOT his personal life!
And if I came home to find a partner in bed with two others I would lose the plot too - Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned!

i soo wanted to cry but i hate grying in front of people including dp.
as for all the stuff in the media god so what im sure none of us would let our partners off lightly if they cheated. besides a guy who is use to handling big cats proberbly forgets the amount of strength that he has when he isnt with the cats.

I thought they should so much about the death, the little funeral, him being lowered into the ground. I wondered if maybe it was too much, esp for kids?

im sorry , but no matter what the reason is behind it there is no excuse to hit another human being (except in self defence) if its ok for one person because they are a celebrity and good with animals , where do we draw the line?
We wouldnt tolerate it from anyone else regardless of the situation , we are all told domestic violence is a crime and regardless of the background behind it , there can't and shouldn't be any exceptions to the rule.
Besides, there are 3 sides to every story , your side, their side and the truth .
In saying that , i find it very hard to believe that someone who is so gentle and loving with animals could be like that all the time, and while I dont condone violence for any reason , it hasn't really marred my opinion of him , I don't really think of it at all when i watch him tbh .
Oh and my partner (not my current one) has cheated, and with a (former) friend , and while i was hurt and fuming, i didn't feel the need to hit them ( put prawns in his curtains tho ....)

*giggle* at the prawns in the curtains
I have to admit I'd probably have slapped the tart myself, not that I condone violence at all but heat of the moment...
Jade - I did wonder how Maya would cope, she had a little cry but she was OK. I think it's actually good for the, she learnt how babies come out from watching animal shows so makes sense that she should learn about death in a similar way. In saying that, I was really, really worried how she'd cope when Nisha the tiger died on The Zoo, it took her about a week to get over it.

the kelly......i'm not making excuses for him JUST because he's 'the lion man', i just meant that what happened in his private life, will not put me off watching the show.
i've heard from alot of people they don't watch anymore simply because of what happened, which IMHO is silly

Was he convicted? I do wonder about what it says if we have people on tv who have been convicted of violent crime, it just seems to send the wrong message.

The thing I watched about it which was her story was well dodgy but what upset me the most was they had footage of him forcing his main lion (zion is it) to do something he didn't want to for a tv ad and he was flicking his ears and laughing etc. That just totally put me off him. Up until that point I had actually kind of been on his side. Not condoning violence of any sort but I can understand someone losing it when they find someone they love in a compromising position.

ok, my bad, thought you might think i meant you since your reply was saying that you never said it was ok to hit your wife , and i was the only one saying it sounded like people were saying it , sorry about the mix up
But whatever ,much more important things to worry about than the Lion man , eg my friends F**Kwit of a killer is going to appeal , f*Ck that , lion Man can do what he wants.
