Topic: I went shopping yesterday !!!!! Posted: 01 February 2006 at 8:14am |
As Toni_akl and Paws already know, I had a wee bit of a splurge at The Baby Factory yesterday. So, what I ended up with were booties, four sleeper suits, an adorable wee shirt and pants outfit, and some socks - which was most of what I was 'lacking' for clothes (we got a fair bit of other stuff from Canada). I also caved in and got a stroller / capsule travel system by Janus for $300 which I am really stoked with ! I wish I had a photo of it, and I might try and take one later. It was such a laugh when I got it home, as I was unpacking the groceries, hubby to be was racing it up and down the hallway making cute "vroom vroom" noises ! I also got a Sangenic nappy wrapper, and one more pack of newborn nappies (which actually went in with the groceries), and probably won't get any more nappies in newborn size just yet (have 2x 30 packs altogether now). So I had lots of fun, I just wish it hadn't been so stinking hot !

Newborn nappies???? it so depends on the size of your bubs..... my wee girl was 4lb and is nearly 3mnths old and will still be in newborn for a while yet and at the moment we go thru a 52 pack a week or 2 small packs and thats only because she is sleeping thru the night.. id recomend about 5-7packs and if they do grow out of them before you run out most supermarkets are happy to swap them as long as you havnt opened them and even if you remeber next time you buy a pack tape the recipt to it as proof of purchase.. but most supermarkets will swap without a recipt..

Hi
I have about 100 new born nappies, but im not going to buy anymore as i started to worry that if i had a big baby he might miss that stage altogether.
Im finding trying to choose a stroller quite hard, as they all look the same but everyone says how important it is to choose the right one

hey Judith. welcome back!
I wouldn't get too many newborn, just in case your bubba is big. Also, I found that Taine was little, and some newborn naps would leak like crazy, so needed to try several brands.
Shopping is cool and baby factory have great newborn naps btw.

Oops, I did it again !!
Went to Babycity this time instead of The Baby Factory, and WOW !! I should have started there in the first place !!
Anyway, I think hubby is ready to take all my eftpos and VISA cards off me now LOL
I ended up with a change table / bath combo, a breast pump kit (Avent), a baby monitor set (Philips), some mobile type toys by Lamaze, and some Looney Tunes stick ups for the wall that peel off again when you want to change them
That sets us up with a lot of the big items we need now, as well as quite a few of the small ones - we've got a cot coming to us from family, and have been offered a bassinette and bouncer from a friend at work !
*bounces around* Now I just hve to work on my patience and wait for baby to get here

I so miss buying all the bits and pieces that you need to get for baby. Although i don't think my husband does he was always saying 'we don't need that' and he was probably right but most things out there for babies are so cute and i just couldn't resist.

The Avent breast pump is great. My midwife lent me one, and it was so good that I ended up buying one.

LOL Well I promised him tonight that this was it for a while *chuckles* He was quite pleased by that, although happy at the same time that we have a lot of the big items that we need now... just a few smaller things will need picking up later on. And yes nikki, you read me completely right - not the most patient person in the world, so this pregnancy will probably feel like forever !
