this is for all our new mummys of girls, all our expecting mummys of girls and our feels like ive been here forever mums of girls ....and all our mums since we are all daughters too...

so its a bit naff but i think the words are loverly

Cheers to u all!

In my daughters eyes

In my daughter's eyes I am a hero
I am strong and wise and I know no fear
But the truth is plain to see
She was sent to rescue me
I see who I wanna be
In my daughter's eyes

In my daughter's eyes everyone is equal
Darkness turns to light and the
world is at peace
This miracle God gave to me gives me
strength when I am weak
I find reason to believe
In my daughter's eyes

And when she wraps her hand
around my finger
Oh it puts a smile in my heart
Everything becomes a little clearer

I realize what life is all about

It's hangin' on when your heart
has had enough
It's giving more when you feel like giving up
I've seen the light
It's in my daugter's eyes

In my daughter's eyes I can see the future
A reflection of who I am and what will be
Though she'll grow and someday leave
Maybe raise a family
When I'm gone I hope you see how happy
she made me
For I'll be there
In my daughter's eyes

ooooh that is gorgeous - i am gonna add one that ihave that i really love:

A Window To Look Through

She watches through her window,
her little girl at play
Memories flood back to her childhood,
of her yesterdays

As she tucks her gift into bed,
and kisses her precious face
She says a prayer of protection,
"Lord keep my child safe."

And as days turn months into years,
she sees her little girl grow
She begins to realize that a time will come,
the time when she must let go.

Suddenly she hears a gentle voice-- saying,
"No greater love is this,
Than what you've done for your little girl,
go seal it with a kiss."

"Honey I want to kiss your face,
but I know I can't by phone
While looking through your bedroom window,
I began to feel alone."

"So many days through this very window,
I'd watch you laugh and play
And I can almost see you tucked in bed,
on those nights we'd talk and pray."

"Mum," her daughter uttered,
"There's something I want to say...
You may not know how many times,
I saw you watch me play."

"That window that you're looking through,
is the same one God looked in
He saw you by my bed each night,
when you'd tenderly tuck me in."

"So mum please don't feel all alone,
you know I'll always be there...
Just like God is with you now,
no matter the time, or place or where."
Her mother paused and then replied,
"Sweetheart I know you're right...
You're grown, married and have a child,
that you now tuck in at night."
"Mum, I better go now,
I have some things I better do."
Her mom replied, "I know it dear,
you've got a window to look through."

here you go deb, i have a poem for mums of boys.. i think it's neat.. I'm not sure if it's written from a dad's point of view or a mums but it's nice all the same.

In my arms I hold you
my newborn baby son;
Thinking of tomorrows
and all that must be done.

I’ll raise you strong and proud
and teach you all I can;
When my job is finished
the world will see a man.

You’ll learn that life is hard
but filled with happiness;
That a pure and kind heart
is fated for success.

I’ll teach you to be true
and how to be a friend;
When to hold your head high;
and when to give and bend.

Though someday I’ll be gone
we’ll never be apart
Anytime you need me
just look inside your heart.

Keep with you these lessons
and always strive to learn;
Pass them onto your son
and his son in return.

gsmum the reason i hadnt put up a thread for mums of boys is cos the poem Janine put up is the first one ive actually read for boys-its weird theres heaps of poems for little girls and songs (eg Butterfly kisses) but hardly any for boys...not sure why that is ...odd.

anyway i think the poems are beautiful, brings a tear to my eye lol

they are nice but it is strange tha the girls ones are soft and dreamy and the boys about growing them up strong... hmmmm would want my kids regardless of sex to grow up strong but also gentle.

I have a few more random poems that i really like... they are nice to put in scrap books....lol i will, once i get round to doing the girls ones.

No One Like Me
From my nose to my toes
From my chin to my shin
There is no one exactly like ME.
From here at my waist
To my "sit-upon" place
There is no one exactly like ME.
Tho' you search far and near
I know you will find
There is no one like ME.
I'm one of a kind.

When you feel a gentle breeze
Caress you when you sigh
It’s a hug sent from heaven
From a loved one way up high

If a soft and tender raindrop
Lands upon your nose
They’ve added a small kiss
As fragile as a rose

If a song your hear fills you
With a feeling of sweet love
It’s a hug sent from heaven
From someone special up above

If you awaken in the morning
To a bluebird’s chirping song
It’s music sent from heaven
To cheer you all day long

If tiny little snowflakes
Land upon your face
It’s a hug sent from heaven
Trimmed with Angel lace

So keep the joy in your heart
If you’re lonely my dear friend
Hugs that are sent from heaven
Help your broken heart to mend.

I’ll paint you a rainbow to hang on the wall,
To brighten your heart when the greay shadows fall.
On a canvas of joy outlasting the years,
With a soft brush of sweetness to dry all your tears.

I’ll paint you a rainbow with colours of smiles,
That glow with sincerity over the miles.
On a palette of words I will tenderly blend,
Tones into treasures of sunlight and wind.

I’ll paint you a rainbow that reaches so wide,
Your sights and your sorrows will vanish inside,
And deep in the center of each different hue,
A memory fashioned especially for you!
