yes, I did it with Jacob, hang in there, chick. I've also got some recipies for milk boostin gfudge and tiger milk that I will post up for you later today. You're doing a fantastic job, and with Astin feeding flat out, he will help increse your supply as well. He will be hititng all those lovely 2, 4, 6 week growth spurts, which will make him feed plenty as well.

once you get enough milk expressed you will be able to give him ebm instead of formula - jordis has a night time bottle of ebm, and at the moment it is completely random how much she wants. last night was only 20mls, some nights it is 120 mls.
you will get there in the end. i am also on the medication, and i used to express after every feed, but i can get away with only doing it 2-3 time a day now. good luck!

cool thatl be awsome if i could get those recipes off you jacobsmama, i need all the help i can get! it seems like the more milk i get the more he seems to want to eat!! he feeds off me for an hour! and then he has around 80-100mls of formula!! and i know that hes getting enough off me cos i can hear him gulping his little heart out! and the milk is dribbling out the side of his mouth! and when he pulls off is when im running low! and am only able to express about 20-30mls

Let him keep on suckling as long as he wants because a baby will ALWAYS get more out than expressing will. I know, the first few weeks are very exhausting but hang in there

When I first started expressing I could only get out that much now I get about 50ml each side which goes to the freezer. And as Teresa said suckling is great it builds the supply up as well.

sometimes the 20-30mls would be all i could get for a DAY expressing after feeds! its all good, and each time you are telling your body it needs to make that much milk next time, so increasing the quantity.

Me! Lily had to have formula topups each day in hospital. I started expressing after every feed about day 5 and every day my expressing got more (the first time I got a whole 2 ml out - omg!) Slowly I replced the formula with EBM top ups. It took about 6 or 7 days after that for me to be where i am now - no top ups needed and sometimes Lily only needs one side to be full. It is so worth perservering with. Hugs!

Lol Baysmum, what a good eater. I am having to express in the am and top Lily up when she seems unsetledd as she ahsn't been putting on weight - only just over 100 gm in a week. Mind you, that does sometimes happen with bigger at birth babies, appaerntly, and she seems happy and well enough! Still, hoping to keep her awake for longer feeds to put a bit more weight on her.

i think leish did from memory early on with Noah - maybe ask her?
and Ella was a big baby but gained slowly after she lost like 500 plus grams from birth....and is still skinny but tall...and is over 50% weight (95% height) so all ok there...it will come right...keep on doing what you are doing and your milk will build up...
