It's snowing here at the moment... and I have to go out soon to pick the kids up from school (we carpool with the neighbours)... I bet the roads will be icy!

AND I'm cooking for the Lion's Club tonight, so I have to go out again at 5pm and won't get home until after 8:30pm... so not looking forward to driving then!

Be careful driving! Go nice and slow and pay no attention to people who toot at you and tell you to go faster, just ignore them and drive safely.

Ooooh be very very careful driving.
I'm a little bit paranoid about driving on ice or snow

oh i love the snow. the only great thing about waoiuru was the snow lol. I was one of those mad folk that was always out in the snow making snow angels and snow men. Loved it loved it loved it but the driving in it sucked. Used to freak when i did skiddies!! Hope all went well tonight for you

Get some snow chains. I used to go up to Ruapehu all the time when I was at school - outr school had a ski lodge there. We ALWAYS got snowed in and had to stay longer - drove me cfrazy as the showers didn't have enough hot water for 25 tenneagers.

It's unfortunate that most vehicles in NZ don't have appropriate tires for that kind of weather, despite the fact that it's not as common as where I come from. I would second Liz's suggestion of snow chains if necessary ! I should try and find some pics of my cousins place at Christmas when we were staying with her...

It stopped snowing about 2:50pm, and everything was fine for the evening... the meal went well and the lady who wants to take over from me is still keen after seeing how it goes.
