    Posted: 17 December 2008 at 7:11pm

My MIL received a card from her late husbands siblings awhile after he passed away unfortunately they're all German and don't speak (or write) English and none of us can read or speak German.

Is there anyone that could translate the card for me?

Babelfish is a bit iffy - you get pigeon English.

For example my friend got a little outfit for her friend's new baby and it had a phrase written in French and she wanted to be able to tell her what it said.

Babel fish translated it as 'nice as all'

It was actually 'totally cute'

Which doesn't help you at all - excuse the rambling.

I agree bobbie, I used it all the time when I lived in Europe; it was great to get the gist of what it was saying but certainly not as a direct translation.

I've heard google translator is really good, it tries to match on phrases unlike babel fish which goes word for word.
