Topic: Motels in Tauranga Posted: 17 February 2009 at 11:51am |
I wonder if anyone can help me...I have to go to Tauranga in April for a block course - it's at the Bongard Centre on Cameron Road. I am hoping someone can give me some recommendations for a motel not too far away from there that isn't going to break the bank.
Can anyone help??
Thanks in advance!!

As cheap as possible LOL - probably no more than $120 pn, I'm just after something basic for either one or two nights (it depends whether I can do all my courses on one day or if I have to spread them over the two). It's just me going, as I'm meeting FIL and DF in Hamilton on the Friday for the V8s.
I just struggle with the distances - everyone keeps telling me Cameron Rd is a long road, although I know it's right up the end by the Tauranga Domain??

Try wotif.com and search for motels in Tauranga. They usually have pics and a description too.
Although you can only book 2 weeks out.

Your Dad owns the Kingsview??
Flash!
heheh I was using wotif.com to look for Julia, so take G's advice
Cameron road is pretty long, but if you're staying further down there are HEAPS of bus stops all along it and buses every few minutes that'll take you to the Bongard Center for a couple of $2

LOL thanks Italiah - I'm getting used to it now, kinda (hopefully the scan tomorrow will make it sink in a little more).
Kingsview is gorgeous...but just a wee bit out of my price range (cheapest room is $180)...
I will be taking my car to the Bongard Centre - apparently there's parking on Elizabeth and Durham Sts?? It depends if I stay one or two nights - one night then I will have to, two nights I may be able to leave the car at the motel through the day....
Is Fifteenth Ave a long distance from Cameron Rd? It looks short on the map, but I'm no good with scales!! Also Fifth Ave...

Both avenues intersect with Cameron Road. Fifth is closer.
Otherwise Bureta Park is pretty basic and about 5 minutes drive away from Bongards.
We have a spare room...

Thanks for the offer fallen - I'm not so good at sleeping through the night though, so really wouldn't want to put anyone else through that!! (I'm usually up by 4am)
Bureta Park looks good, as does Harbour View Motel.

Sorry just lurking here - Wotif.com has now gone to 90 days out! Just happened last week or so I believe.
