measure there body fat % wen i started the gym it was 27.5% which was ok but a lil bit hight for someone my age (all the burger king haha) now only 3.5weeks later its 23.2% the personal trainer thought that the last time they mita put in the wrong hight but i just checked and everythings exaclty the same was that a bad jump down in % or ok im eating better then i was but still a lil fatty food =) i run for 40 mins 3-4 times a week. just the way he made it sound is like it was too fast to lose that much but he didint say much more about it..

if you do measure this how much is yours? and how fast did it go down?>

That is a pretty big jump for a relatively short amount of time.

The only thing is, body fat tests are really only "accurate" when done by the same person as each person will pinch and measure a site slightly differently (although its the same sites), even then you are going to get small variations as its not the most scientific way to measure body fat percentage.

Another factor could be that a range of totals is in one percentage group, then another range of totals is in another percentage group .. eg 50-60 might be 22% and 70-80 might be 24% so you might have just been one point into 27.5% and you might be one point into 23.2% so the drop might be less than it actually looks on paper (if you know what I mean)

What you could do is just look at the number at each site to give you an overall impression of how you are doing, or take note of the total of all sites .. as long as that number is going down all is good.

Just use it as a guide .. not gospel.

If you are REALLY interested in your true body fat percentage, you can find out by doing underwater weighing, they have labs you can go too.

I used to go to the gym and was right into this body fat % thing.  There are a couple of things that can make it inaccurate.

One thing is dehydration - ie if you go out and get plastered the night before getting your fat % done, it will appear to come in light because you are actually dehydrated.  Also you have to make sure you use the exact same set of scales to measure each time, as there are variances between makes/models of scales.

I was about 25% when I started at the gym and got down to about 20% (that was my goal).  I'd hate to think what I am now!!!
