Topic: Mum! Boys dont wear bangles... Posted: 22 November 2006 at 2:52pm |
Couldn't find the baby pics thread, even though I started the last one. Anyhoo, here is a pic taken of fatty last week, wearing his bangle I got him form work for his first birthday. He wasn't that keen... (looks cutie cutie though) and he was still in bed, I had just woken him up.. (I am the MEANEST mother in the whole world)

Its is a tradition in Indian culture that all small kids wear bangles. Boys wear plain ones like Jacobs (which I might is looking ultra cute) and girls wear ones with designs on them. Zaara got given 24k gold ones (that can be adjusted in size) from my MIL with flowers on top as a design. As cute as it is, it is also quite bendy and I wont put it on Zaara for long.
So boys do wear bangles!!

Cute ticker, Nikki.
Roksana, we sell heaps of bangles at work for kids, I really like them, i think it is a matter of starting early and getting them used to it. if this baby is a girl, i will be getting a gold charm b/let ffor her and a gold bangle (making most of staff discount..) and will consider peircing her ears (don't tell rod..)at one and having small screw in post diamond studs...(high maintenence like her mum, she will be...)
