Ok, so, who wants to sponsor me?

Some of you palmy ladies might know about it.. actually, some of you other ladies might know too as now it has grown from being a manawatu event to being widely spread throughout the country in association with heart kids week.

The Heart Children, Heart stopper challenge. Held here in Palmy on Sunday, 25th May, 2pm in the square (come and laugh at me freezing my butt off!)

It involves willingly sitting in ice cold water, spiked with loads of ice, for 5 minutes. It kinda symbolises the process that heart kids go through before open heart surgery - when they are packed with ice around in order to slow, and stop, their heart before going onto bypass for the op.

Basically i have managed to wrangle 3 of my fellow neonatal nurses to form a team. It's held every year and quite a few people i know of do it, especially my daycare too, and you collect sponsors and all proceeds go to Heart children manawatu - who have been a great source of help for both me, and especially my mum in the last few years.

So, If anyone wants to sponsor me, chuck me a line via PM.
