Topic: Cleaning products Posted: 12 February 2009 at 1:50pm |
I went shopping with a mate earlier today and the cleaning products aile is usually one I get nothing from except maybe once every 2-3 months but she spent about $30 on cleaning products which will apparently last her a month. I thought wtf?!
Am I weird or is she weird?
How much do you spend on cleaning products (not including washing powder)?

She's totally weird lol. Mind you, I am looking around my grubby house and pondering.......
I will get loo cleaner about every 2-3 months, Jiff maybe 6 months, spray stuff for bench top about every 2-3 months. Dishwashing liquid 1-2 months.
So yeah, usually in the cleaning area just for washing powder.

I'd like to think you are the normal one Stacey as i am exactly the same. The only cleaning products i get through quickly are washing powder and washing up stuff, other wise they last for months (if not years) **blushes**

We probably spend about $15 a fortnight. DH sprays the spray and wipe likes its going out of fashion
We buy disinfectant, bleach, floor cleaner, spray and wipe and dishwash liquid usually every fortnight.
Jif lasts us about a month.

I buy dishwash every month. Bathroom cleaner every 2 months, same with toilet cleaner. Floorwash stuff every 3 months I guess. Countertop cleaner every 3 months or so. And then I make my own mix for doing windows.
Washing powder I buy on special so every few months or so but I stock up.

we go through a lot of toilet cleaner. 2 toilets and 4 boys but other than that we hardly go through anything and my house is pretty dam clean. lol. in saying that my sister buys heaps of what i would term unnecisary stuff like toilet cleaner AND toilet crystals and pours almost a whole bottle down the toilet 'so it sparkles' and she uses shake and vac everytime she vacuums which i think is a bit of a luxury except for special occasions

I buy washing powder, dishwashing powder & napisan frequently but everything else is maybe 6-8 weekly. In saying that though I use Handy Andy for floors and toilets & jiff for the bathrooms and that's it. Don't believe in different products for different surfaces. I think people get sucked into the marketing ploys of surface cleaners.
I'm a freak about dish clothes & tea towels and they have to be soaked in napisan every couple of days.
Windows and mirrors I use a "special" yellow cloth (don't know what they're called) and they clean the windows beautifully with just water.
